International Roaming

  1. What is International Roaming?

    International Roaming is a service where it allows you to use your mobile number to make and receive calls in countries or destinations while you are overseas.

  2. What should I do if I want to be able to make calls, send SMS or browse internet when I’m travelling overseas?

    You will need to pre-activate your roaming services before you travel overseas.

  3. How do I activate my International Roaming service?

    If you are a redONE customer for more than 6 months, you just need to call 1909 to speak to our Customer Care to activate your International Roaming service before you travel abroad. If you are a new redONE customer (less than 6 months), then you may be required to pay an additional RM300 deposit (refundable) to activate your International Roaming service. The additional deposit payment can be waived if you ported (MNP) your Postpaid number from another network, and you had been roaming previously.

  4. What are the steps to make calls or send SMS while I’m roaming?

    Just follow the simple instruction below:

  5. How do I manually select a network operator from my mobile device?

    To manually select a network, please follow the steps below:

    iPhone Go to:

    • Automatic [OFF]
    • Select the correct preferred network
    Android Go to:
    • Menu
    • Settings
    • Wireless and Networks
    • Mobile Networks
    • Network Operator
    • Select the correct preferred network
    BlackBerry Go to:

    • Click on Network Selection Mode and select MANUAL. Under the Manual Network Selection, there are 3 options:
      1. Prompt – under this option customer will be prompted to switch when the manually selected network is out of coverage
      2. Yes – this option will allow user to switch to available network (Auto) when manually selected network is out of coverage
      3. No – user will not be having network coverage when the manually selected network is out of coverage.

    Note: Steps may vary from one mobile phone to another

  6. What are the charging rates for making calls, sending SMS or browsing the internet while roaming?

    The charges are based on the roaming country and operator you selected.

  7. Are there any Peak/Off-Peak hours to make any international call?

    No, the charging rates are standard depending on the country and operator you selected.

  8. Will I be charged for answering calls while I’m roaming?

    Yes, you will be charged if you answer any calls while you are roaming. The charges will vary according to the country of originating calls.

  9. Can I see the number of my caller on my mobile screen when I am roaming?

    Yes, you can.

  10. Who do I call in case of emergency such as lost SIM, lost phone, etc?

    You are advised to contact our Customer Care at +603 8689 7800 to suspend your line in order to avoid any unauthorised usages.

  11. Will I be charged if I call redONE Customer Care while roaming?

    Yes, you will be charged International Roaming service charges depending on the country and operator you selected.

  12. Are these International Roaming rates applicable to supplementary line users?

    Yes, these rates are applicable to supplementary line users with activated International Roaming service.

  13. Will I be notified of any changes in International Roaming rates?

    Changes in rates will be published in our website. Please check our website periodically to get the latest rates and promotions.

  1. redONE reserves the right at its sole discretion to determine whether a subscriber is eligible for the international roaming service.

  2. redONE and the operator of the visited foreign telecommunication services network shall not be liable for any loss or damage which the subscriber may sustain from or through the suspension/ termination/ interruption/ loss of or inability to use the international roaming service due to any cause whatsoever.

  3. The subscriber of the international roaming service shall be subjected to all terms and conditions of this Agreement and such other terms and conditions as redONE shall deem fit to be imposed from time to time.

  4. For data services, the subscriber’s monthly access fees only covers domestic data usage and does not include data usage overseas. For roaming service usage, international roaming charges applies.

  5. The subscriber may request for a higher Credit Limit and redONE may grant the same at its discretion subject to conditions as redONE shall deem fit to impose.

  6. The subscriber shall bear and pay all surcharges, exclude Service Tax, value-added taxes, and any other charges, taxes, exchange rate difference (if any) or such other sum as may be stipulated from redONE from time to time, incurred in using the international roaming service.

  7. redONE does not make any warranty or representation that the subscriber’s mobile equipment will be able to utilise the international roaming service. Any inability of the subscriber’s mobile equipment to utilise international roaming service shall not annul this agreement or absolve, diminish or affect the subscriber’s liability to observe and perform his/her obligations herein.

  8. The subscriber shall promptly report to redONE and in any case within 24 hours, any lost or stolen SIM Card or mobile equipment. Until such report has been received by redONE, the subscriber shall be liable for all charges incurred.

  9. For the purposes of these terms and conditions, any reference to international roaming service shall include international data roaming services.

  10. This offer’s terms and conditions shall be read in addition to the terms and conditions practiced by redONE (“Principal Terms & Conditions”) accepted by the Customer and shall be supplemental to the Principal Terms & Conditions. The Principal Terms and Conditions shall continue to apply and bind the Customer for purposes of this promotion.

  2. Do I need to log on to a certain network to enjoy the Daily Data Roaming?

    No, you do not need to log on to a preferred operator.

  3. Do I need to register or subscribe in order to enjoy the rates?

    You will be automatically activated upon data usage of more than 1 MB in the eligible countries. Please ensure to switch ON Data Roaming on your device setting.

  4. Will I be informed about my activation?

    Yes, you will be informed via SMS upon activation and 100% usage utilization.

  5. What is Unlimited Daily Data Roaming?

    This service allows customers to access mobile data services when abroad using foreign mobile networks, without having to pay high data roaming charges. The cost is capped at a flat daily rate.

  6. What if the country that I am travelling to is not on the list of countries?

    Then standard data roaming rates will apply, which will be very expensive. Look for free WiFi hotspots instead.

  7. What is the charging block for Pay-Per-Use?

    The charging block is per 100 kb.

  8. If I’ve reached my daily quota, can I still enjoy the Internet while roaming without additional charges?

    Yes, you can continue browsing without any additional charges at reduced speed of up to 256 Kbps until your pass expires (FUP 700 MB).

  9. Can I unsubscribe from the Daily Data Roaming?

    No. The Daily Data Roaming will expire automatically within 24 hours. If you do not wish to continue, please turn off data roaming from your device settings.

  10. Can I travel to multiple countries using one subscription?

    You are allowed to use the same Daily Data Roaming subscription for multiple countries (within the eligible countries list). For example, if you travel to Singapore & Thailand within a day, the Daily Data Roaming auto-activated in Singapore can be used in Thailand as well.

  11. What are the eligible countries that are allocated with a 1 GB quota?

Daily Data Roaming

  1. The new RM39 Daily Data Roaming is valid from 1 September 2024.

  2. This Daily Data Roaming is applicable to all new and existing redONE Postpaid customers.

  3. Customer must remember to switch on data roaming to enjoy the promotion.

  4. The Daily Data Roaming is a roaming service that comes with roaming internet quota of up to 1 GB at a flat rate of RM39 per day.

    • The quota allocated will be high-speed roaming internet.

    • After the full high-speed quota is used, the subsequent internet speed will be slowed down to 256 kbps (FUP: 700 MB).

  5. Daily Data Roaming is based on Malaysian time zone from 12:00am to 11:59pm.

  6. Any usage under RM10 will be charged as pay-per-use based on standard data roam charges. Subsequent usage greater than or equal to RM10 will be charged RM39. Upon 100% of the slowed down speed on FUP, data roaming service will be blocked.

  7. The Daily Data Roaming is offered in partnership with network operators in the selected countries (“Participating Network Operators”). redONE Mobile reserves the right to delete, add or amend the list of Participating Network Operators in the selected countries from time to time.

  8. This Daily Data Roaming shall be auto-renewed if data usage continues to be detected after 24 hours from the activation time. Customers may avoid auto-renewal and/or the charges by turning off their Data Roaming.

  9. The Daily Data Roaming service will be automatically activated once the Customer reaches the foreign country, and the Daily Data Roaming service will continue to auto-renew every 24 hours with a RM39 flat rate charge as long as international roaming is enabled on the device of the Customer.

  10. The Daily Data Roaming services shall be used outside of Malaysia and the Customer agrees to abide by and be subjected to all terms and conditions of use at all times and the usage terms of the Participating Network Operators.

  11. Customers shall not use the Daily Data Roaming for commercial, non-personal or fraudulent use or gains. redONE Mobile reserves the right at any time at its absolute discretion and without any liability whatsoever to the Customer or any third party, to disconnect, interrupt, terminate, bar or suspend the Daily Data Roaming service to a Customer in the event of suspicious usage, illegal activities, suspected fraud or any other unusual activities that are not permitted under this Terms and Conditions.

  12. There will not be any refund granted on unutilized Daily Data Roaming Quota upon termination at any point of time if the Customer deactivates International Roaming. The remaining Internet quota will be forfeited with immediate effect.
