East Coast Region – In response to the recent devastating floods on the East Coast of Malaysia, redONE Mobile through its charity foundation, Yayasan redONE, successfully launched a flood relief effort from 15 to 24 December 2024, contributing care packs to provide immediate relief to the affected communities.
The care packs, assembled by redONE Mobile volunteers and partners, contain essential food, drink and basic hygiene items to help 400 families displaced by the floods in Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang meet their basic needs, assisting them as they begin the process of rebuilding their lives. In addition to the care packs, redONE Mobile also donated 2,000 preloaded SIM packs to the recipients.
The aid was distributed to affected families who had been sheltering at temporary relief centres (PPS) across the three states in collaboration with each respective states’ Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK).
The initiative is a reflection of redONE Mobile’s commitment to supporting communities and providing vital aid especially during times of crisis, demonstrating the company’s dedication to making a meaningful difference.
“We sympathise with the hardship faced by families affected by the recent floods, and we believe that as a company, we have a collective responsibility to extend our support to alleviate the burden faced by these communities. Our flood relief effort is a small but meaningful way to help these families regain a sense of normalcy and ensure they have access to essential resources during this challenging period,” said Ameen Amaendran, Chief Executive Officer of redONE Mobile.
